Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 is a 10.1 megapixel camera which is competing with the Cannon cameras in one of the top 10 positions. The 12x optical zoom is an added bonus with this cool camera. The previous versions from Panasonic were with 10x optical zoom. You won’t be needing any more than 12x optical zoom, for any purpose. You will be surely happy to see it’s performance.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 allows to record videos as well. And the captured videos will not be in any conventional video format. You’ll be able to capture HD (high dimension) videos. And that’s because of AVCHD Lite – something that’s found only in Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. This is one of the most important feature found in this cool camera, that makes it one of the best digital camera out there (which also supports for recording videos at the same time).

Face Recognition is done on Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 in a brilliant manner. After it recognizes a new face, it’ll automatically save it. And if a particular face is seen in many shots, it’ll ask to name it and prioritize it. And from then on, if the same face is seen in a scene, it’ll try to give more priority to that face and hence the focus and exposure to that particular face will be done accordingly, so that it would be sharply focused.

Optical Image Stabilization feature corrects the effects of hand-shake while taking the shot. So, even if you weren’t steady while taking the shot, the shot will be steady for sure. It works fine, even in the movie mode. All this will be handled by the iA mode of Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 functions with the help of two cpu. And these processors makes it a noise free device, and also helps to enhance the battery life to a great extent. The processors provides Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 a 2.4x processing ability.

Awesome camera. I owned the DMC-FZ35K before this but I sold it because I didn’t want to lug around such a big camera. The ZS3 has pretty much the same picture and video quality, though less mexapixels, zoom and manual options. But for a camera this size to have such quality is amazing.
